The Oregon Gay-Straight Alliance Network is a youth-led organization that connects school-based Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) around the state to each other and community resources. Through peer support, leadership development, and training, the GSA Network supports young people in starting, strengthening and sustaining GSAs.

SMYRC and the Oregon GSA Network are teaming up to present this year’s Oregon Queer Youth Summit (OQYS),
which will serve as 2010’s major conference for LGBTQ identified youth. You might be asking yourself,
“What about the GSA Summit?” OQYS could be considered the love child of the annual GSA Summit and the
Oregon Queer Youth Conference (OQYC), which has also occurred in previous years. We are working to create
an event which will appeal to and meet the needs of youth who are actively involved in GSAs at their schools
as well as non-GSA affiliated LGBTQ youth.
You’re invited to participate in OQYS and we need your help to spread the word about this event!
Please forward this information to any and all contacts who might be interested in attending this
year’s summit.
